VERONA, NJ — There were three additional cases of COVID-19 reported in Verona on Thursday, bringing the total number of cases in the township to 128 since the start of the pandemic, according to data provided by Essex County.

There have been a total of 14 deaths in Verona attributed to the coronavirus. In Cedar Grove, there have been a total of 466 confirmed cases and 107 deaths attributed to COVID-19. There were no new cases in Cedar Grove on Thursday.

There were 61 new cases of COVID-19 reported across all of Essex County on Thursday. Essex County has had a total of 18,848 cases since the start of the pandemic, and 1,786 deaths. There have been 84,341 negative tests for the virus in Essex County.

The New Jersey Department of Health reported 428 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 172,356, a figure that does not reflect how many have since recovered. Hospitalizations related to COVID-19 in New Jersey totaled 1,027, a decrease of 53 since the day before.
