VERONA/CEDAR GROVE, NJ - Local houses of worship have adjusted their worship plans in response to the COVID-19. Here is a summary of the changes.
St. Catherine of Siena Church
Cardinal Joseph w. Tobin C.S.s.R, Archbishop of Newark suspended the Masses on Saturday evening at 5 pm and all Sunday Masses this weekend. Additionally all catholic schools are closed and the Religious Education classes are suspended until March 20. Stations of the Cross, daily Mass and Confession are not affected. The parish office will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Community Church of Cedar Grove
Sunday Morning Worship for March 15 is canceled. The church will host a Facebook Live experience at 10 am on Sunday instead.
Temple Sholom of West Essex
Services are being conducted via Live Stream.
Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit
In-person worship is canceled for March 15, 22 and 29. Instead, the public can attend an 8 a.m. or 10 a.m. service via an online video conference using a computer or smartphone for video or a telephone for audio only.
First Presbyterian Church
Sunday morning in-person worship has been canceled for the next two weeks and and the church building is closed to all activities, including theThrift Shop and committee meetings until the end of the month. However, on Sunday March 15, at 10:15 a.m. the church will hold “Parking Lot Church” in the lot behind the building on Fairview Avenue and everyone is invited to drive up and attend. This service will also be live streamed via Facebook.
Calvary Lutheran Church
Regular Sunday service will be held.
