VERONA, NJ - The Verona Hillbillies boys basketball team opened the season with a 41-32 win over Livingston at home on Friday.  

Verona took the lead after one quarter, outscoring the Lancers 10-5.  However, Livingston answered in the second to take the lead 15-14 at the half.  The third quarter ended 24-24 tie, but the Hillbillies dominated the fourth quarter to clinch the win.

Cael Zebrowski led for the Hillbillies with 16 points, while Nick Gonzalez and Derek Jocelyn had seven and six points respectively in the win.

Verona will host Boonton on Monday at 11 a.m. and is scheduled to take on Caldwell on Friday in the annual holiday tournament at 5:30 p.m.
