VERONA, NJ - The Verona High School boys soccer team opened its season with a decisive 7-1 win over Caldwell at home on Wednesday.

Graham Weber tallied three goals and two assists to lead for the Hillbillies, while Alejandro Celi scored twice.  Ben Batson had one goal and one assist and Christian Despecchi had one goal in the win.  

Aidan Murphy contributed two assists, while Peter Hoogterp, Peter Caputo, Nicholas Handler and Andrew Della Ferra added one assist each.

In goal, Jerry Stippoli had three saves while Michael Lipesky had one.

Verona travels to Columbia on Friday at 7 p.m.
