VERONA, NJ - The Verona Hillbillies volleyball team took another step toward defending its Essex County title, by defeating West Orange 2-0 in the quarterfinals of the Essex County Tournament.

Verona won the first game 25-17 and the second 25-12.  Kelly Waterman led for the Hillbillies with 17 assists, nine service points, four digs and two aces.  Ashley Duhaney added 13 service points, 10 kills, five aces, two digs and one block, while Sloan Lawless tallied 11 service points, five digs and one ace.

Verona will travel to Cedar Grove Wednesday for the Annual Dig Pink Tournament and will take on Millburn on Friday in Livingston the ECT semifinals.
