CEDAR GROVE, NJ - It all started in second grade for Michael Massa as a wrestler for the Cedar Grove Panthers Youth Wrestling Program where he enjoyed success early on and through middle school, which fueled a desire to achieve his ultimate goal of being a medalist for Seton Hall Prep High School.
After making it to Atlantic City the year before, but falling just short of being a medalist, Massa was even more determined to place among the top eight finishers next season.
During the off-season, Mass pushed himself even harder by competing in countless tournaments, practicing at Cordoba Trained Wrestling School in Fairfield and working with his strength and conditioning coach at Pinnacle Athletic Development in Parsippany.
His hard work and determination culminated in a sixth-place finish at 195 pounds in the NJSIAA wrestling tournament at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
Massa finishes his high school career at Seton Hall Prep with 100+ wins, 2X Essex County Champion, 1X Region Champion, 2X Region Medalist, and 3X District Medalist.
Massa will continue his education at Johns Hopkins University, where he plans on studying medicine.
