VERONA, NJ — Registration has opened on Community Pass for fall recreation soccer, cross-country, girls field hockey and girls suburban volleyball tryouts.

Verona recreation soccer is open to boys and girls entering grades 1 through 8 in September. This is an equal playing time league where fun and learning come together on the field. Each team will have one weekday practice and one Saturday game or practice.

Cross-country track is open to kids in grades 3-8. The events will take place at Cedar Grove Park on Fairview Avenue, Mondays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Participants should dress comfortably in weather-appropriate clothing. Bring a water bottle clearly marked with your child's name on it.

Girls field hockey will be split up into clinics for grades 3-4 and travel team competition for grades 5-6 and grades 7-8. Each team will have practice Monday and Wednesday evening. Exact times will be released in August. Games will be scheduled mostly on Saturdays and the final schedule will be released as soon as it is finalized. Home games will be played at Centennial Field at the Verona Community Center.

Girl's suburban volleyball tryouts are scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 1 and Wednesday, Sept. 2 at the Verona Community Center. There is no cost to try out, but all girls must be registered on Community Pass to attend tryouts. All potential players must attend one night of tryouts. Attendance both nights is preferred.
