PRINCETON, NJ - On Friday, March 13, 2016 at 5:15 p.m., American Repertory Ballet will host a free lecture, Physical Therapy – Taking Care of the Young Dancer’s Body, as part of its On Pointe Series. This discussion will feature Dr. Jennifer Winell from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Dr. Winell is an attending surgeon at CHOP with a focus on pediatric orthopedics, sports injuries, spine and foot disorders. She will join American Repertory Ballet Artistic Director Douglas Martin to discuss how to best care for a young, growing dancer’s body in order to prevent injury. This On Pointe will provide useful information not only for young dancers but also young athletes and their parents.

ARB launched On Pointe in 2010 to make ballet and related topics more accessible to the community. The enrichment series brings guest speakers, lecture demonstrations, company performance previews and panel discussions to seasoned dance enthusiasts and new students alike, a monthly basis. On Pointe events are free and open to the public and are held at 5:15 p.m. at Princeton Ballet School (301 North Harrison Street, in the Princeton Shopping Center, above McCaffrey's Supermarket).
