WATCHUNG, NJ - The Watchung Parent Teacher Organization, PTO, is delighted to announce the trio of food truck vendors for their Dine-To-Donate community fundraiser, this Friday, August 7th, at Bayberry School, 131 Bayberry Lane in Watchung, NJ, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. On hand will be Angry Archies, a family-owned and operated Jersey-City vendor, selling their signature fan-favorite dishes such as crab cake, lobster rolls, crab poutine, and chicken sandwiches. They will be joined by fellow Jersey City food truck, Taxi Cab Burgers, who grill made-to-order all-beef sliders served on Hawaiian sweet rolls. Complimenting these two dinner trucks is Kona Ice, a refreshing dessert truck where patrons create their flavor(s) to pour on shaved ice. Vendors will be stationed in the lower portion of the parking lot for carryout orders only. Parking is available on-site and attendees are asked to wear masks and maintain social distancing when ordering. All are welcome to attend this inaugural Food Truck Fridays and support the Watchung school system. To preview menus, visit the watchungpto.com.
Food Truck Fridays is an effort being organized by the Watchung PTO to support students and their families attending district schools. The PTO is commencing its fundraising efforts before the opening of the school year to generate funds for COVID-19 hand-sanitizing stations, cleaning supplies, and contactless paper towel dispensers needed in September at Bayberry and Valley View Schools.
This fundraising initiative will take place on four consecutive Fridays in August, the 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th, rain or shine from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Bayberry School. Each week, two dinner entree-based trucks alongside one dessert truck will be featured selling their local specialties to area residents. Trucks will donate a percentage of their proceeds from the evening back to the Watchung PTO. All food purchased will be solely for take-out and participants are requested to follow COVID-19 guidelines and social distancing measures. No dining will be permitted on school grounds.
Dine-to-Donate has been an extremely popular fundraising method utilized by the Watchung PTO over the last several years providing a social connection for residents, a boost to area restaurant businesses, and funds for the school district.
