SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Somerset County Department of Health Saturday reported 22,762 positive tests for the COVID-19 virus overnight and 710 COVID-19 deaths since March 8, 2020.

The New Jersey Department of Health on Saturday reported a total of 855,759 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state one year ago, an increase of 3,429 overnight. The death toll in New Jersey is 22,542, an increase of 40 overnight.

There have been 12,914,501 COVID-19 tests administered in New Jersey.

Somerville has had a total of 1,041 COVID-19 cases since March 2020, with a total of 16 COVID-19 related deaths.

The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide is 141,092,371 including 3,013,304 deaths, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control & Prevention Saturday morning, with 32,328,917 cases in the United States and 580,193 deaths.

The SCDOH confirmed the deaths of 207 Franklin Township residents; 94 in Hillsborough/Millstone; 103 in Bridgewater; 47 in Bernards Township; 51 in North Plainfield; 35 in Green Brook; 15 in Watchung; 22 in Raritan; 23 in Bound Brook; 22 in Warren; 21 in Manville; 16 in Somerville; 21 in Montgomery; 10 in Branchburg; 5 in Bedminster; 5 in Bernardsville; 4 in South Bound Brook; 4 in Peapack-Gladstone; 1 in Rocky Hill and 1 in Far Hills.
