WARREN, NJ - NJ Transit's Gladstone branch service remains temporarily suspended until further notice, due to emergency repairs near Summit station, NJ Transit officials said on Wednesday afternoon.
A portion of the wall in Summit collapsed.
Commuters are frustrated.
Early lack of information left some Warren commuters sitting in Hoboken after it was announced that the Gladstone branch train was cancelled. Later trains ran to Summit, bused commuters to Murray Hill and then single file loaded them on a train through to Gladstone.
Rail tickets and passes will be cross-honored by Lakeland buses and commuters have been advised to listen to station announcements about alternate train service. Substitute bus service is now being provided from Summit.
