WARREN, NJ —The National Weather Service (NWS) in Mount Holly has issued a Winter Storm Watch and High Wind Advisory for the Warren area until 1 p.m on Sunday. Three to eight inches of snow, high winds (25 to 30 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 miles per hour) and dangerous wind chills of zero to -10 degrees are expected.
Travel could be very difficult and blizzard conditions are possible.
Expect slippery conditions and possible closures on Hillcrest Rd., Washington Ave., Warrenville Rd. and Morning Glory Rd. in Warren.
Warren Township Police ask drivers to remember, "Four-wheel drive helps you drive, not stop. Please drive slow and keep your distance between the car in front of you. Stay safe "
I- 78 and I-287 will be impacted along with local roads. Bridges and overpasses are the first to ice over. If driving, reduce speed and allow extra time to reach your destination.
If you do have to go out on the roads, bring emergency supplies and a fully charged mobile phone.
