My name is Bob Morrison and I am running for the Watchung Hills Regional High School (WHRHS) Board of Education as an elected member from Warren.

Five weeks from today Warren residents will be going to the polls to elect two citizens to represent the township on the WHRHS Board of Education. This is an important election since the two incumbent representatives from Warren, Laura Mandell and Harold Grossnickle, have both decided not to seek another term. Both Laura and Harold have represented our township well and I would like to say "THANK YOU" to them both for their years of dedicated service to our township.

This election provides the residents of Warren with a tremendous opportunity to bring new leadership to the WHRHS Board. This is what I intended to do. This is why I am running for election. This is why I am asking for your vote.

After spending the majority of my professional career involved in national and state education policy, and having witnessed the challenges facing our school district, I am compelled to take this opportunity to volunteer my experience to serve our community as a WHRHS board member.

Those who know me are well aware of both my passion for education and my life long commitment to improving education for our nation's students.

This election is a chance for me to bring the same passion and experience from my professional life to our community so I may have a positive impact for my own family and for each of you - my friends, my neighbors and our children.

My goal is to bring my track record of proven leadership and positive change to WHRHS. I hope to bring a new transparencyaccountabilityopenness, and approachability to the WHRHS Board of Education. I hope to bring back a sense of service to the WHRHS Board of Education where we remember the Board of Education is there to serve the citizens of our township, and by extension, our students.

As a resident for nearly 12 years, a father of two students in our school system, a volunteer coach with WBSI for several years, a volunteer co-chair of the Warren Township Utility Advisory Committee, and a co-administrator of the Warren Township Community Forum I am convinced that now is the right time to bring my proven leadership and experience to the Watchung Hills Regional High School Board of Education. I hope through my demonstrated track record in our community I have earned your trust and, as a result, may count on your support.

Over the next five weeks I will be publishing information about my approach to the important educational issues facing our community.
