BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The newly constructed Chimney Rock Road bridge over Route 22 has officially opened this week, and includes two new fully activated traffic lights.
The signalized intersections along Chimney Rock Road at the Route 22 Eastbound Local roadway and Route 22 Westbound ramps A/B opened to traffic fully Monday.
According to a release from the county, the new Chimney Rock Road bridge over the Route 22 East and West Express roadways is fully operational, and provides a direct connection between Route 28 and Route 22, as well as points north.
Work related to the Chimney Rock Road/Route 22 project will continue throughout the year, the release said.
There will be a ceremonial ribbon-cutting ceremony Oct. 6 with county, state and local officials.
