BERNARDS TWP., NJ - The annual Christmas Eve singalong has been held every year in downtown Basking Ridge despite snow, cold, sleet, ice, fog or rain conditions. Many current and former residents cite the carol sing as one of the highlights of growing up in Basking Ridge.

The annual Christmas Eve Community Sing will again be held at 7 p.m. this Sunday, Dec. 24, on the Basking Ridge green.

The event will be preceded by the ringing of the church bells at the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church and Bishop Janes United Methodist, both churches along the green.

Everyone in the community is invited to gather at the green starting about 6:45 p.m. to pick up the song sheets.

After a prelude by the brass ensemble under the direction of Greg Lane, Bill Corson will lead the singing of traditional carols accompanied by the all-volunteer brass choir.

Here is a video of the crowd doing a joyous version of "Joy to the World" on Christmas Eve 2016.

Anyone interested in joining the brass ensemble may meet with Lane at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve in Westminster Hall at The Presbyterian Church, at 1 E. Oak St. in Basking Ridge.
