WARREN, NJ - Update: All schools are closed  Wednesday, March 15.


Warren Township Schools and Watchung Hills Regional High School will have a delayed opening Wednesday due to inclement weather and poor road conditions. 

Due to possible refreezing overnight, the schools will reassess overnight for possible closure.

Watchung Hills says, "As we continue to clean up from the storm and are expecting a refreeze overnight, Watchung Hills Regional High School will follow a delayed opening schedule Wednesday, March 15.  We will reassess road conditions and clean-up efforts Wednesday morning.  Should we have to close the district, a decision will be made by 7:30AM Wednesday."

Road are very icy.

Warren Township Police ask drivers to remember, "Four-wheel drive helps you drive, not stop. Please drive slow and keep your distance between the car in front of you. Stay safe."

"Coffee with the Superintendent" -- originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 15 at 9:30 a.m. -- has been RESCHEDULED for next Wednesday, March 22 at 9:45 a.m. at the board office.

Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines and the weight of the ice from freezing rain will increase their susceptibility to damage from the high winds. 

The delayed opening times for Warren schools are, ALT: 9:55 a.m., Central, Mt. Horeb and Woodland: 10:40 a.m., Middle: 9:55 a.m. and Watchung Hills: 9:30 a.m.

Be prepared for icy road conditions in Warren, especially Hillcrest Road, Morning Glory Road, Warrenville Road, and Washington Avenue.
