WARREN, NJ - Give the gift of reading. If you love your books set them free. Warren student, Isabella Percario started a service group called Acts of Kindness, or A-OK, and will be collecting books in celebration of International Book Giving Day, February 14.
A-OK is collecting new and gently used books to be distributed to the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Community in North Plainfield. A book collection bin is located at the Warren library in the children’s department and will be collected February 2-10 and distributed after mass on February 12.
A-OK is a generationOn service club program. The generationON service club program for youth 11-18 years old was launched in 2012 with the mission of inspiring and equipping older youth to take positive action in their communities. Clubs are youth-led, supported by an adult advisor. There are currently over 200 registered generationOn Service Clubs across the United States and internationally.
GenerationON's vision is a world where all young people have the opportunity to make a positive mark on the world with a mission to provide programs and resources that support the development of caring, compassionate and capable kids and teens through service, empowering them to become changemakers in their communities and the world, according to the website.
