WARREN,  NJ — Afshin Shirazi, co-owner of über bistro in Warren and Westfield, lost his brother Amir this week after a long and difficult battle with Neurofibromatosis Type II, disease that attacks the nervous system.

Amir Shirazi was diagnosed with NF2 when he was just 15, Shirazi said, and struggled with the debilitating disease for 20 years, suffering through numerous operations, pain, and the loss of his hearing and sight. He died Wednesday.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help his family pay for funeral expenses. To donate, click here.

"Thank you very much for your support,” Shirazi said. “God bless you."
