UPDATE: Time Changed to 6 p.m.

WARREN, NJ - The Franklin Lady Warriors will square off against the Watchung Hills Lady Warriors in the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 2 Group 4 Girls Basketball State Tournament finals on Tuesday, March 6, 6 p.m. at Watchung Hills Regional High School. 

Franklin (20-7) will be led by junior Diamond Miller, FHS all-time scorer leader with 1,570 career points and 637 this season. Watchung Hills (23-3) will be led by Julia Cunningham who is the WHRHS all-time scorer leader, with more than 1,600 points.

Franklin will bring a 12 game win streak to the game versus a three-game win streak for Watchung Hills. Both teams are coming off impressive wins.

Franklin defeated Bridgewater-Raritan 65-32 and Watchung Hills bested Westfield 49-19

Miller scored 21 points to go with 12 rebounds, six blocked shots and five assists. Sophomore Keona Schenk finished with 16 points, junior guard Tiana Jackson totaled 11 points and five assists, and senior Camille Gray scored 10 points for Franklin.

Cunningham racked up her second-straight triple- double with 12 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists to lead Watchung Hills past Westfield Saturday afternoon. 

Sophomores Jayden Baltuch and Alexa Santo added 12 points and nine points, respectively, for Watchung Hills. Senior Alyssa Killeen chipped in five points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Watchung Hills won its last three games by more than 30 points, and Franklin won five of their last six by more than 30 points. 

The Lady Warriors battled earlier this season during the Somerset County Tournament semifinals where Franklin came away victorious 75-40. 

Keona Schenck lit up Watchung Hills with 25 points, powered by six 3-pointers. The loss was one of only three losses suffered by Watchung Hills. 

Both coaches had positive outlooks regarding their respective team wins this past Saturday.  

“An amazing effort again for the girls,” said WHRHS head coach Reese Kirchofer. “Three consecutive 30 point plus wins in the state playoffs is unbelievable."

 "I do think," said Franklin coach Audrey Taylor, "that we are playing at a championship level right now."
