BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - The Gov. Livingston Alumni Association partnered with the local business community in a sponsored advertising effort to benefit Gov. Livingston athletics, while providing additional alumni scholarship funds for graduating seniors. Earlier this year, the Berkeley Heights Board of Education agreed to allow the GL Alumni Association to administer the program and display banners  at specific locations on Gov. Livingston athletic fields.

The Highlander Booster Club, under the direction of president George Devanney, enthusiastically embraced the new program this spring. When the Highlander baseball team opened the  2017 season against New Providence, there were 35 sponsorship banners on display around the baseball diamond. The Gov. Livingston turf field had  an additional 10 banners on display during the spring lacrosse and track season.

While Gov. Livingston Athletics was the primary beneficiary of the fundraiser, the Alumni Association was able to expand their scholarship program, providing awards to seniors Megan Place,Tim Donahue, Will Nicholson, and Emily Broda from this year’s graduating class.

The field banner program is ongoing and prime space is now available for the upcoming FALL season. Sponsorships are available to support all Gov. Livingston athletic teams and are not field, sport, or season specific. For example, if you would like to sponsor the GL swim team, donations would go directly to the swim team even though your banner would be displayed on the football or baseball field. Sponsorships are accepted on a first come basis and limited in number and to designated locations.

If you have an interest in purchasing a sponsorship please contact the Governor Livingston Alumni Association at glhsalumni175@gmail.com  and send along an electronic pdf or jpeg copy of your design/graphics. Questions can also be directed to Mark Pomo (Pomoco73@gmail.com) or Sharon Brodian-Atkins (sharb118@gmail.com ).
