WARREN, NJ - I-78 westbound has reopened after an accident earlier today involving a state trooper near exit 40 in Warren.
Currently, all lanes eastbound are closed, with only the right shoulder open to traffic. Motorists are advised to use an alternate route.
Traffic is extremely heavy on all local roads in the area.
At 4:05 p.m., New Jersey State Police tweeted," State Trooper involved in serious MVA I-78 EB MP 40.8 Warren Twp., Somerset County. Expect major delays due to invest. No additional info."
The trooper was transported by helicopter to the hospital, authorities said.
