A Winter Storm Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service through 1 p.m. Monday. The forecast calls for snow, sleet and ice to accumulate between 3 and 8 inches before it moves out of the area. Winter Storm Linus has been spreading snow across a wide swath of the Midwest dumping a foot or more over Chicago.
Forecasters anticipate hazardous travel conditions statewide to include the Monday morning commute.
Be prepared for icy road conditions in Warren, especially Hillcrest Rd., Morning Glory Rd., Warrenville Rd., and Washington Ave. Visibility could be reduced to a quarter of a mile or less at times, and snow-covered roadways will create hazardous travel conditions. Drivers are urged to use caution.
In the event you lose power, contact your local power provider and not Police Communications unless an emergency exists:
Help the Department of Public Works with snow removal by removing your vehicle from the side of the road. Do not push snow from your driveway back onto the street and do not call 9-1-1 about snow removal from your street.
