BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Love True, a non-profit organization based in Somerset County that serves to fight sex trafficking within the state, is holding its annual Trek Against Trafficking race at Duke Island Park Oct. 1 to raise money for the cause.

The event includes a 10K, 5K, 15K double race challenge, a 1-mile walk and kids races for ages 2 through 10.

This is the biggest event held to raise funds for Love True, and averages 250 race participants each year.

The race has also been distinguished as a USA Track & Field sanctioned race, and is part of the New Balance Grand Prix Series.

The event is expected to spread awareness about sex trafficking in an effort to end the travesty.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with the kids race for ages 2 through 5 beginning at 8:45 a.m. and the race for ages 6 through 10 beginning at 8:50 a.m. The 5K race will be held at 9 a.m., the 1-mile walk begins at 9:05 a.m., and the 10K race begins at 9:30 a.m.

Love True raises awareness of the realities of sex trafficking by educating youth, professionals and community members on the issue and how to be part of the solution. It also provides programs for at-risk youth, with a goal of striking out trafficking.
