Committeewoman Carolann Garafola said, “We would like to recognize a number of volunteers who have come out on their own accord, on their own time, and have given up time with their family to volunteer for a number of activities in the recreation commission. You're  making Warren Township a pleasant place to live."
Committeeman Mick Marion said, “Being an elected official, and sitting up here, you think about how to make the township a better place and it always falls back on the residents and our volunteers, so thank you very much.”

She volunteered over 155 hours for the Warren Township Recreation Summer program, Kindergarten camp, Annual Bonfire and Letters to Santa. She is on the track team and plays basketball too.Her goal is to be a teacher or a nurse; she loves working with children and is a babysitter on occasion. She is a very unselfish person with an honest heart.
The Summer Playground Director said about Melanie:,"Melanie was an asset to the Warren Recreation Summer Playground Program. As a camper in the program Melanie was friendly and energetic. She came back to camp this year as a volunteer and shared the same enthusiasm with all of our campers. The campers loved having Melanie as a CIT. She brought a smile to each of the children’s faces with her entertaining nature. We were blessed to have Melanie join our camp as a CIT. Tonight; we honor Melanie Cunha as the 2013 Youth Volunteer of the Year.
