WARREN, NJ - Four Watchung Hills Regional High School athletes upgraded their status from recruits to official signees to the college/university of their choice on early National Letter of Intent (NLI) Signing Day this week.
Surrounded by their families and coach Jamie Lovejoy, the four students put pen to paper and signed their official NLI commitment letters. All play lacrosse.
And they are:
Drew Furlong -SUNY Binghamton,
Chris Clintock -St Joes,
Tyler James - College of the Holy Cross, and
Jonathan Taub- Rutgers University
National Signing Day began on Wednesday Nov. 8 and ran through Nov. 15. According to the National Letter of Intent website, the NLI only apply to prospective student-athletes attending full-time at a four-year college or university for the first time. The NLI is a binding agreement between a prospective student-athlete and an NLI member institution whereas the prospective student-athlete agrees to attend the institution full-time for one academic year (two semesters or three quarters). In return, the institution agrees to provide athletics financial aid for one academic year (two semesters or three quarters).
