PLAINFIELD, NJ - There has been no holiday when it comes to the violence in Plainfield’s East end as police investigate another murder. The shooting took place at the Seafood Rama restaurant at the 1000 block of East 2nd Street between Garfield Avenue and Netherwood Avenue on Thursday. TAPintoPlainfield has confirmed that the Homicide Task Force is investigating this latest act of gun violence.
The homicide follows the killing of 18-year-old Manuel Berrios, the victim of a drive-by shooting on Monday just a few blocks from Thursday evening's fatal shooting.
“This has to stop,” said a woman standing at the corner of Garfield and East 2nd Street. A solemn crowd had gathered at the corner looking at Plainfield’s latest crime scene. This shooting marks the 12 homicide in 2016. TAPinto Plainfield will provide updated information to this developing story as more information is made available.
