WARREN, NJ -On May 6, SCLSNJ's Warren Township Library branch, hosted a large group of seniors for an event featuring live music performed by three musicians from The Traveling Stage Company, followed by a delicious luncheon, provided by the Friends of the Warren Township Library and Brandywine Senior Living in Watchung.
In the past, Adult Services Librarians had visited the seniors group which meets monthly at the local church Our Lady of the Mount, as part of the library's outreach efforts. This time, the seniors were invited to visit the library, and Marcela Dunham, SCLSNJ adult programming coordinator at the Warren Township library branch, put together a special event just for them. The music ensemble played songs from Broadway musicals from the 1930’s to the present, and the audience was invited to guess the showtune, in this program called “Broadway Bingo”. Several attendees commented on how to music brought back wonderful memories for them and said that this event at the library was the best seniors’ meeting they had ever attended.
