The event is sponsored by Wells Fargo Advisors and all proceeds are donated to Wagner Farm Arboretum. Each year, several events with outdoor themes that are family-friendly are held to raise funds for the Arboretum’s continuing programs to educate children and adults on nature, horticulture and the environment. The Arboretum gardens are a perfect tool and venue for many hand-on lessons. The Arboretum fundraising efforts are working towards plans for a Butterfly conservatory and for a greenhouse to facilitate early growing for the Giving Garden project. The 5K Run will be this year’s big Fall event since the Arboretum’s fundraising event “Brite Nites” had to dim the lights for just this year. The pumpkin displays for Brite Nites were destroyed when the shed collapsed in February. So come and enjoy the day of competition and camaraderie at the 5K Run on September 21 and support the Arboretum.
