WANTAGE, N.J. — Horsemen and those without horses are invited to the Lusscroft Farm Labor Day Horse Camping Trail ride.
Arrive any time after noon on Friday, Aug 31 and stay through Sept. 3.
There are 15 stalls available. The Lusscroft trail system has some new, well-marked trails. Other nearby trail options can be discussed for a different trail on Monday.
The weekend trail and camp package rate is $45 for three nights, Friday through Sunday.
Day riders welcome for a fee of $10. All fees support ongoing Lusscroft upkeep projects done by volunteers from The Heritage and Agriculture Association, Inc. in cooperation with New Jersey DEP/Division of Parks and Forestry. Volunteer opportunities for barn paining parties will be scheduled.
The weekend is good for those that are new to camping with horses and experienced riders who travel.
Those without horses can just come for potluck around the campfire, meet other riders and talk about horses. To coordinate the menu, call Carolyn Moran at 845-667-2015.
Travel to other riding/hiking trails are possible within 25 miles drive with Lusscroft as a base camp.
