WARREN, NJ - The first annual Run For Quaid 5k Run/Walk and 1-Mile Fun Run will take place on Sunday, Nov. 1 at Watchung Hills Regional High School located on Stirling Road in Warren beginning at 8 a.m. with registration.
Participation in this event will help to raise awareness as to how spinal cord injuries are a life-changing journey, not only for the injured, but for all those close to them. Run or Walk to help Quaid and others who have sustained a spinal cord injury. Your registration fee or donation will go a long way towards providing the adaptive handicap equipment which is crucial for a paralyzed person. It gives them a little more independence and feeling of normalcy. This equipment is very expensive.
All proceeds will benefit the Quaid Mobus Fund and all others like Quaid who are suffering from severe spinal cord injuries. The event is USATF Certified.
Watchung Hills alum, Quaid Mobus (21) was four wheeling the day before his sister's wedding in the back country of Pennsylvania. He was driving on a dirt road and hit a piece of concrete stuck in the road and lost control of his vehicle. He has sustained major damage to his spinal cord, and has had his kidney removed. Currently he is unable to feel anything from the neck down.
