WARREN, NJ - By week's end, schedules are anticipated to be emailed to all parents and students in the Warren Township and Watchung Hills School Districts. Some important dates to start the 2016-17 school year and plan for the first week of school are:

Walk Throughs and Orientation

For all K-5 students and family members, a Walk Through where students can walk through the building, meet their teachers, and see their classrooms will take place in the elementary schools on Friday, Sept. 2 from 2:00 until 2:30 PM

At Warren Middle School, sixth grade orientation will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept.2. The 7th and 8th grade walk through will follow at 1 p.m.

At Watchung Hills, incoming freshman  will have an opportunity to find their classrooms and meet their teachers on Friday, September 2, from 7:30 – 10:30 am. Bus transportation will be provided. 

The freshmen will follow an abbreviated eight-period schedule and peer leaders and teachers will be in the hallways to assist with directions.

The First Day of School

The first day of school at all Warren elementary schools, Warren Middle School and Watchung Hills Regional High School is Tuesday, Sept. 6. The first day of school is a full day for K-8 students and a half-day for Watchung Hills students who will follow an abbreviated eight-period schedule.

Also the first week of school, Warren Middle School will hold 6th grade Back to School night on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. WMS boys soccer tryouts are scheduled to be held on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 8 and 9.

 

Save the date

Dr. Matthew Mingle, Superintendent of Warren Township Schools, will be holding “Coffee with the Superintendent” events throughout the school year to give all members of the community regular opportunities to hear about the latest news from the district and to share their own ideas.

The first “Coffee with the Superintendent” will be held on Wednesday, September 21 at 9:30am in the Warren Township Board of Education office located at 213 Mt. Horeb Road. All are welcome to attend. It is requested that attendees register by visiting http://tinyurl.com/WarrenCoffee. Additional dates and times will be announced via the district website at www.warrentboe.org.

Wednesday, Sept. 14- Warren Middle School grades 7 and 8 at 7 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 15 - Woodland School 

Tuesday, Sept. 20 - Central School

Thursday, Sept 22 - ALT School

Information on BTS Night at Mt. Horeb School has not yet been published on the district's  website.

And at WHRHS - BTS night  Oct.6 at 7 p.m and and BTS day Oct. 10 at 7:30 a.m.
