NEW JERSEY -- Teaneck, NJ native, actor Matt Servitto, appeared on One-on-One with Steve Adubato, where he discussed the upcoming Sopranos prequel movie currently being filmed in New Jersey.

Servitto, who played FBI Special Agent Dwight Harris on the show, said that with this year being the 20th anniversary of the airing of the Sopranos, James Gandolfini has been on his mind a lot these days.

Servitto is “very excited about what is happening with the film.” Gandolfini’s son Michael plays the young Tony Soprano in the prequel. “It gives me chills talking about it,” Servitto added.

James Gandolfini had a reputation of being the nicest guy in the business, “and that is all true,” Servitto said. Gandolfini was “the patriarch of the show, took care of people,” Servitto added. “He was just a giver.”

The prequel, titled The Many Saints of Newark, has been filming in New Jersey in locations familiar to Sopranos viewers, such as Paterson, Newark, and the site of the notorious final scene of the series, Holsten’s in Bloomfield. The film will be set in the 60s during the Newark riots and Tony Soprano’s formative years. Right now, The Many Saints of Newark is set to debut in the fall of 2020. \
