NEWARK, NJ - If you wanted to define New Jersey, two names come to mind:  Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen.

Travels has had the pleasure of meeting and working with both and can vouch for their love of both the Garden State and greater New York area. This weekend they showed their appreciation to us with a special backstage tour and rock’n concert.

It was a homecoming for Bon Jovi on Saturday and Sunday as they rocked the Prudential Center in Newark.  It is also a farewell. They need to head on out an “accept a little award” from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday.

It seems remarkable the amount of quality music he has created since emerging from obscurity in Sayreville, New Jersey.

Jon Bon Jovi, Tico Torres, and David Bryan remain the heart of the band after 30 years. They are now joined by Phil X and Hugh McDonald.  It's sad to divulge our age, but we at Travels think of Phil and McDonald as the new guys (sigh).

Speaking of age, Bon Jovi joked about it several times, displaying the genuine, honest nature we have come to know and admire. Even at 55, the man seems to have not aged a day.

For more information, visit here for the band's website.
