MADISON, NJ - North Jersey's top lacrosse players convened at Madison High School on June 7 to participate in the Gil Gibbs All-Star Games. Now in its 37th year, the 2015 All-Star tournament recognizes top junior and high school lacrosse players in the state.
Three Hills Lacrosse Club players- Adam Claxton, Chris Susoglu and Anthony Tomaro - were selected to play on the Central West Division All- Star team. The team went 4-0 on the day beating Central Division East, Western Division Chippewa , Western Division Navajo / Erie and the Western Division Washoe conference.
The Games’ celebrate the memory of legendary Montclair High School lacrosse coach Gil Gibbs and the impact he had on the growing sport of lacrosse in New Jersey.
Gibbs had a 177-35 overall record, seven New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) state championships, produced 42 players who went to the NCAA Division I Final Four and six who played for national champions.
Gibbs was inducted into the U.S. Lacrosse Hall of Fame, the NJCSA and the NJSIAA Halls of Fame and died in 1978 at age 39.
