WARREN, NJ - The Warren, N.J. Mantz-Cavaliere American Legion Post 293 ran their second annual Veterans Holiday Coat and Sock Drive in the month of November.

With the support of the post Legionaries, Sons of The America Legion, and friends of the post they were able to raise over $1,100.

"The intent of the drive has always been to provide new and unused winter clothing for male and female veterans that reside at or are associated with the Lyons Veteran’s Hospital in Basking Ridge, NJ.," said Commander for the Sons of the American Legion Jim Gaffney.  This year they worked closely with Hope for Veterans group to determine what was the best utilization of the funds.   In addition to coats and socks, this year they were able to donate slippers, hats, gloves and even a few ear buds for mobile phones.
