WARREN, NJ - An incidence of fraud, identity theft and the theft of a purse containing thousands of dollars in cash and casino chips were reported this week according to reports issued by the Warren Township Police Department.
A resident of Primrose Way reported an incident of fraud on Tuesday morning. The victim turned over $1300 via money gram to an individual fraudulently claiming to be from the IRS, police said.
Later on Tuesday, a resident of Charles Road responded to police headquarters reporting an incident of identity theft. An unknown person used the information of a family member to file a fraudulent tax return according to a report released by the Warren Police on Wednesday.
And on Monday, a Blue Jay Court resident reported the theft of a purse valued at $700 and contained $11,000 cash and $6100 in casino chips, police said.
