WARREN, NJ - Due to icy road conditions, Warren Township Schools and Watchung Hills Regional High School have made the call. There will be a two hour delayed opening on Monday, March 2. The delayed opening times for Warren schools are, ALT: 9:55 a.m., Central, Mt. Horeb and Woodland: 10:40 a.m., Middle: 9:55 a.m. and Watchung Hills: 9:30 a.m. Pingry is also opening with a two hour delay. The delay may push the start of PARCC testing until tomorrow. Grades three and six are scheduled to begin testing today.
Regarding PARCC at Woodland, Principal Heaney sent an email this morning to Woodland families that said," We are still planning to conduct the Grade 3 PARCC test today. Grade 3 students will be eating their lunches at 12 and will begin the PARCC at 12:30."
Watchung Police issued an advisory on Sunday evening that Hillcrest Rd. had reopened but also warned that due to the inclement weather, the Watchung portion of Hillcrest Road is subject to closure. Warrenville Road and Washington Ave. are closed.
Commuter trains and buses will operate on a regular weekday schedule, however riders should allow extra travel time due to the weather conditions, officials said.
Anyone traveling should exercise extra caution Monday morning.
