WARREN, NJ - Dolphins, Eagles, Gators, Warriors, Wolverines,and Woodchucks all have returned to school.

And, don't stress. According to the American Psychological Association, parents face additional stressors. "Aside from paying the mortgage, working and everyday concerns, many parents may also be worried about their children starting a new school, changing school districts, facing a more rigorous academic year or dealing with difficult social situations. Often the fear of the unknown — classmates, teachers, the school building — whether it’s the children hopping on the school bus or their parents who have to wave goodbye."

Some important dates to start the 2016-17 school year and plan for the first week of school are:

The first day of school at all Warren elementary schools, Warren Middle School and Watchung Hills Regional High School is Tuesday, Sept. 6. The first day of school is a full day for K-8 students and a half-day for Watchung Hills students who will follow an abbreviated eight-period schedule.

Also the first week of school, Warren Middle School will hold 6th grade Back to School night on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. WMS boys soccer tryouts are scheduled to be held on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 8 and 9.

 

Save the date

Dr. Matthew Mingle, Superintendent of Warren Township Schools, will be holding “Coffee with the Superintendent” events throughout the school year to give all members of the community regular opportunities to hear about the latest news from the district and to share their own ideas.

The first “Coffee with the Superintendent” will be held on Wednesday, September 21 at 9:30am in the Warren Township Board of Education office located at 213 Mt. Horeb Road. All are welcome to attend. It is requested that attendees register by visiting http://tinyurl.com/WarrenCoffee. Additional dates and times will be announced via the district website at www.warrentboe.org.

Wednesday, Sept. 14- Warren Middle School grades 7 and 8 at 7 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 15 - Woodland School 

Tuesday, Sept. 21- Central School

Thursday, Sept 22 - ALT School and Mt. Horeb School
