WARREN, NJ - Warren Township honored the fallen from the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks with a ceremony Thursday officiated by Rev. Dave Hentschel of Mt. Bethel Baptist church.

The ceremony took place at the 9/11 Fallen Heroes Monument in front of the Municipal Building. The monument depicts the Twin Towers and features an inscription that reads: “We Will Never Forget.”

“Today we honor all those who have fallen. We honor the first respondents, the police, fire department, EMS,” said Mayor Gary DiNardo. “We must never forget them and their family members.”

Rev. Dave Hentschel of Mt. Bethel Bapist Church led the gathered crowd in prayer.

“We have not forgotten, Oh God that 3,000 people died that day in a city that is so close to us that we can see it from Washington Rock"

The 9/11 memorial features twisted steel from the 34th floor of the collapsed building. It is lifted between two statues of the towers.
