WARREN, NJ - Barring the issuance of a state of emergency by Governor Christie, the Warren Township School District does not anticipate making a final decision until Thursday morning regarding a delayed opening or school closure on Thursday.
The National Weather Service is forecasting a significant winter storm this evening and through the day tomorrow.
"Any decision about a school closing or delayed opening is made upon a careful analysis of all relevant safety factors in consultation with school, township, and regional resources," the district said. Ultimately, the decision is made on the basis of student and staff safety above all else."
The area superintendents will have a conference call Thursday morning at 4:45 a.m. to discuss the most up-to-date information.
Notifications will go out to all families and staff no later than 5:30 a.m. in the event of a school closing or delay.
