The service began with a special procession of members of the two congregations, carrying worship elements of both churches.  The procession also included four members of the clergy; Rev. Murdoch MacPherson, Rev. Jane McCready, Rev. Robert Kriesat and Rev. Markus Vaga.

Reverends MacPherson and McCready of Faith Lutheran recognized with gratitude and praise the ministry conducted by Advent Lutheran at its Warren location during the past 50 years.

Faith and Advent are members of the New Jersey Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA). The Synod consists of 172 churches.

Each September begins a new year of ministry for the churches of the ELCA.  The theme this year for the merged Faith Lutheran Church (www.famfaith.org) is New Beginnings in God’s Kingdom.
