WARREN, NJ - Central School, 109 Mount Bethel Road, celebrated good health and abundant sunshine at its Field Day on Friday, Oct. 14 with activities that included “don’t be a couch potato” sack races, cherry-on-a-spoon relays, and a life-sized game of strategy modeled after the classic “Connect 4,” using red and green apples in place of the traditional colored plastic discs.

“I went with a healthy nutrition theme,” said physical education teacher Laura Lamson who organizes the annual event.

The active day also had K-5 students dribbling soccer balls, hurling Styrofoam javelins, playing a memory match game with paper fruits and vegetables, and racing to sort colored bean bags, each representing a fruit, vegetable, grain, protein or dairy… the five basic food groups based on federal nutrition guidelines.
