BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Somerset County announced that Washington Valley Road, between Chimney Rock Road and Eastbrook Road, has reopened to all traffic, according to a release.
"We thank local residents, commuters, schools and businesses for their patience while these needed upgrades were made," Freeholder Brian Gallagher said in the release. "The completion of this work has created a safer road for everyone."
According to the release, the project included reconstruction of the roadway, shoulder widening, new roadway pavement and striping and installation of one mile of new storm sewer pipes.
Work, the release said, will continue through the rest of the fall on the traffic signal and pavement upgrades at the intersection of Chimney Rock Road. The intersection will remain open while work is being done.
