I am writing to you on behalf of the Board of Education to inform you of our plans to ensure continuity of leadership in the district while our Superintendent, Dr. Elizabeth Jewett, is on maternity leave from early December through the end of March. Our current Director of Human Resources and Professional Development, Ms. Beth Scheiderman, will be Acting Superintendent of the Watchung Hills Regional High School District during this period of time.  Ms. Scheiderman has served the Watchung Hills Regional High School District for 16 years, filling the role of Director of Special Services prior to her current position.  She has played an integral role in the development and implementation of our Reopening plan as well as in overseeing numerous district initiatives, including our past and current Strategic Planning process. Additionally, at this past Tuesday's meeting, the Board of Education approved Ms. Pamela Kelly, a recently retired educator from Pemberton, NJ, to serve as our Interim Director of Human Resources and Professional Development during this same period of time. Ms. Kelly brings 35 years of experience in education with her to our district.

We appreciate your continued support and wish you all a safe and healthy upcoming holiday season.

Sincerely,

Rita Barone, WHRHS BOE President
