WARREN, NJ - Watchung Hills boys soccer lost a tough game against rival Pingry on Tuesday, 1-0.
With Pingry's win, Miller Bugliari became only the second boys soccer coach in national history to reach 800 wins.
Watchung Hills kept pressure on and just missed opportunities, including a chance where shots hit the post and then the crossbar in rapid succession.
Coach Salton said,"Our boys are so close to breaking through. It was a tough game versus a perennial powerhouse. Although we are not happy with the loss, we will take many positives away from this game and keep getting better."
Pingry, No. 6 in the NJ.com Top 20, got a goal from Jamie Cook in the 24th minute of the first half, scoring the only goal of the game. Cook took a free kick near the top left corner of the box, across the goal hitting the net inside the back post.
Aria Meshkati finished with five saves for Warchung Hills and Max Lurie made four saves in the shutout for Pingry.
Bugliari's career record moved to 800-100-62 after the win, and stands as the highest all-time in New Jersey.
