WARREN, NJ - Melanie Cunha scored her second goal of the game with 4:30 to play to lift Watchung Hills over Bridgewater-Raritan in the semifinals of the Somerset County Tournament, 3-2.
Watching Hills took an early lead with goals by Cunha and Ally Grunstein. Bridgewater-Raritan tied it up when Samantha Orecchio scored in the 38th minute and Jezlyn Jimenez hit the net in the 60th minute.
In goal, Lea Andriola made eight saves for Watchung Hills and Danielle Staffin stopped five shots for Bridgewater-Raritan.
When the teams met on Oct. 9, Watchung Hills fell to Bridgewater-Raritan in double overtime, 2-1
Last year, after a scoreless tie in regulation and two overtime periods, Watchung Hills lost to Bridgewater-Raritan, 3-2 in penalty kicks in the state sectional finals of the North Jersey Section 2, Group 4 tournament.
