MONTGOMERY, NJ - At the Individual NJSIAA Championships on Saturday at Montgomery High School, Watchung Hills gymnasts competed on bars and balance beam.
At the championships, Alexis Tekin of Watchung Hills grabbed silver in the bars event, finishing with a 9.600. The all-around winner was Julianna Drapkin of Holmdel, who also took first place as a freshman in 2012 and was runner-up last year when competing for Bishop Ahr. Tekin edged out Drapkin on the bars and Watchung Hills' Morgan Durant tied Drapkin on the beam.
These competitors earned their spots in the individual state competition based on their scores and places at the North Jersey, Section II meet.
