SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ - Most of New Jersey is under a flood advisory on Friday due to  heavy rain due to thunderstorms. One to three inches of rain has occurred in portions of Somerset and Mercer Counties this morning. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area, the National Weather Service said.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night and in early morning hours when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

Do not travel through water covered roadways. If you encounter flooding, “Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life,” the service warned. “Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you can do so safely."
