NEW JERSEY - Veterans Day is a federal holiday honoring all those currently serving and who have served in the military. It became a federal holiday in 1938 and is one of 10 observed throughout the year.

Since it is a federal holiday all post offices and most banks are closed on Monday, November 11 as well as state and local government offices and courts. Schools in the Garden State have the option of closing with many districts including Franklin Township holding classes on Veterans Day. There will be UPS and FedEx deliveries on November 11 and the New York Stock Exchange will be open.

There will be a Veteran's Day Ceremony at the Franklin Township Municipal Complex from 10:30 am to 11:15 am. For more information contact Bob LaCorte at (732)991-1710 or boblacorte52@gmail.com.
