WARREN, NJ – Hunterdon Central Senior Bob Cole threw a complete game 5-0 shutout over the Watchung Hills Hustlin' Warriors today in his first ever varsity start. Meanwhile in Flemington, the Lady Warriors took an early lead but Hunterdon Central scored five runs in the sixth inning to come from behind for the win, 9-5.
Cole scattered five hits and allowed just one walk in his seven innings of work. “I had my curveball working today, and it just felt great being out there,” said Cole. “Coach Raymond had a great plan going into today, and everything just worked out the way we wanted.” Hunterdon Central scored two runs in the 2nd inning, two in the 3rd inning and tacked on their final run in the 5th on an RBI single by Henry Hawkins.

“If you have good pitching, good defense, and timely hitting you’re going to win a lot of baseball games, and we were able to do that today," said Coach Raymond.

Alyssa Murray drove in two runs and Gina Priore had an RBI for the Lady Warriors.

Both teams will face Franklin on Friday.
